Healthy City Lab / Team / Kolsoum Heidari

Kolsoum Heidari is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Healthy City Lab at the University of Calgary. Her research focuses on healthy aging, leisure and physical activity, digital mobility, and health equity, using interdisciplinary and mixed-methods approaches to understand how mobility experiences and social contexts influence health and well-being. Her current research examines how digital mobility outcomes, including accelerometry and GPS-based measures, can be better interpreted to support physical activity and healthy aging among diverse older adult populations. Her research ambition is to bridge social and health sciences with digital technologies to develop more meaningful and equitable approaches for promoting healthy aging and mobility. Prior to joining the University of Calgary, Kolsoum completed her PhD in Human Kinetics (Leisure Studies) at the University of Ottawa, where her research examined the relationships among serious leisure, environmental engagement, and health-related behaviours using mixed- methods approaches.
